Peace Like a River

Leif Enger is a superb writer. The main character is asthmatic, and I swear I had trouble breathing while I was reading it. I highly recommend it.

I was wondering where the phrase "peace like a river" comes from and looked it up. Isaiah 66:12 says, "For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees."

I loved this book! My ward bookclub read this for our last read before our bookclub got banned. This is Sarah by the way, I'm on Liz's account. This book is a great read. Kind of sad though.
